Handbuilding & Wheelthrowing Long Course
Ongoing weekly pottery courses.
The course targets developing pottery skills, design ideas & decorations including glazing.

•Course Details:
Each course consists of 12 workshops conducted through a period of 12 weeks to cover a whole production process of basic shapes in Handbuilding & Wheelthrowing. Workshops are conducted once weekly.
Each month will include the complete process of shaping, trimming & glazing of the pots.
Duration per session: 3 hrs
Workshops 1-4: Handbuilding pinch pot & Wheelthrowing cylinders
Workshops 5-8: Handbuilding coils & Wheelthrowing plates
Workshops 9-12: Handbuilding slab & Wheelthrowing bowls
To learn more advanced techniques & skills, you can just renew the course when it’s done!
•Fees:
1 Workshop: 750 EGP
4 Workshops (Short Course): 2,700 EGP instead of 3,000 EGP
12 Workshops (Long Course): 7,650 EGP instead of 9,000 EGP

Terms & Conditions
- Fees are Non-refundable.
- Stations should be cleaned when you are done with your workshop within the workshop period!
- Return Aprons & Tools in their designated areas when you are done.
- Wash from clay in the “Kitchen” area ONLY for the adequate drainage reasons.
- Students are allowed for 1 class cancellation only per month, otherwise the class would be counted.
- In case of fully booked, the upcoming reservation is set for the nearest date available.
- A session can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the class, otherwise the class is counted.
- A deposit should be paid before the course up to 3 days before the course starts.
- Arrival delays are allowed up to 15 minutes only.
- Group classes start by a minimum of 2 students; if less than 2 students, then the class is cancelled automatically.
- Any updates should be announced on Instagram “Fokhara Studio”
- Pottery pieces’ firing depend on the studio’s firing schedule.
- Any cracked, broken, unstable pots will not be fired in the kiln.
- Glazed pots should be cleaned wherever it is in contact with the kiln.
- Extra clay can be purchased from the studio and that would require:
- Students to provide a bucket of their own for recycling their excess clay.
- Pots’ firing requires extra charges depending on the size.
- Store your pots on the designated
- Collect your ready pots in your own box or bag.
- Uncollected pots for a period more than 1 month would be disposed to save storage place.
- The single workshop includes:
- Handbuilding: 600 grams of clay & its firing
- Wheelthrowing: 3 regular (500g each) trials of clay & 2 pots’ firing
- The short course includes:
- 2 Kg of clay & its firing
- Glazes available from Egyptian market (depends on the availability at the studio)
- The long course includes:
- 6 Kg of clay & its firing
- Glazes available from Egyptian market (depends on the availability at the studio)
